Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Dental Veneers

A dental veneer is a custom-engineered covering, made from exceptionally hard, medical-grade porcelain — also referred to as ceramic. Veneers provide a quick, durable solution for the problem of how to restore or establish an attractive smile. Teeth that have become cracked, broken, discolored, that grew in misshapen, or poorly positioned are all among the type of teeth that are candidates for veneer treatment.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Don’t let the word ‘veneer’ put you off. We’re not talking about the thin and fragile veneer you find on particle-board furniture. A dental veneer is made from much more sophisticated medical-grade porcelain — hard, durable, and stain-resistant. The process of getting veneers starts with a careful assessment of your needs: precise measurements are made, the shape of your face and mouth are taken into consideration, and the shade of your teeth is noted and matched. Veneers are then custom-fabricated by a dental lab to exact specifications before being permanently bonded to the front surface of your teeth.

The Veneer Process at Aria Dental

Getting veneers typically takes two office visits. At the first visit, Dr. Daniel prepares the teeth by removing a very small amount of enamel from the front surface — just enough for the veneer to sit flush with neighboring teeth. Impressions are taken and sent to the dental lab along with your exact shade specifications. Temporary veneers are placed to protect your teeth while your custom veneers are fabricated. At your second visit, the temporaries are removed and your permanent veneers are bonded into place and checked for fit, bite, and appearance. Adjustments are made until everything is perfect.

Natural-Looking Results

Medical-grade porcelain reflects light similarly to natural tooth enamel, giving veneers an appearance so natural that most people will not know they're there.

Corrects Multiple Issues at Once

A single veneer can simultaneously address discoloration, chips, cracks, minor misalignment, and irregular tooth shape — all in just two visits.

Long-Lasting and Stain-Resistant

Porcelain veneers are highly resistant to staining from coffee, tea, and red wine, and with proper care can last ten to twenty years or longer.

Are You a Candidate for Veneers?

Veneers are an excellent option for patients who have teeth that are permanently stained or discolored, chipped or cracked, slightly misaligned or uneven, or smaller than the surrounding teeth. Good candidates have healthy teeth and gums, as any active decay or gum disease must be treated before veneer placement. Veneers do require permanently altering the tooth surface, so they are considered a long-term commitment. If you grind your teeth at night, Dr. Daniel may recommend a night guard to protect your veneers. Schedule a consultation and Dr. Daniel will give you an honest assessment of whether veneers are the right choice for your goals.

Service FAQ's

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last 10 to 20 years or more. Maintaining good oral hygiene, avoiding biting on hard objects like ice or pens, and wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth are the most important factors in maximizing veneer longevity.

Veneers are cared for just like natural teeth — brush twice daily, floss regularly, and attend routine cleanings. Avoid biting directly into very hard foods and consider a night guard if you tend to clench or grind. Dr. Daniel will give you specific guidance based on your situation.

Veneers are considered a permanent cosmetic treatment because a small amount of enamel is removed from the tooth surface during preparation. This means the tooth will always need a veneer or other restoration going forward. The veneers themselves can be replaced when they eventually wear, but the tooth preparation cannot be reversed.

Yes. Modern porcelain veneers are fabricated with the translucency and light-reflecting properties of natural tooth enamel. When properly matched to your smile, they are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. We take precise shade measurements to ensure your veneers blend seamlessly.

For the most part, no. You can eat normally with veneers. However, we do recommend avoiding biting directly into extremely hard foods like whole apples or ice, as this can chip or crack both natural teeth and veneers alike.

The cost of veneers varies depending on the number of teeth being treated and the complexity of the case. We recommend scheduling a consultation so Dr. Daniel can assess your needs and provide an accurate estimate. We also offer payment plan options to help make treatment accessible.
